Jesus paid for our sins 1peter 2:24 and Hebrews 7:25 says that he lives to intercede for us. Reading max Ludcado’s book “Unshakeable Hope”, he says that Christ prays for us. He goes on to point out that in Romans 8:1, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Max says that when we sin Jesus stands up for us and says, “I paid for that.” We may think twice about sinning if we realized that after we asked for forgiveness Jesus had to speak up in our behalf since the devil would like to accuse! Forgiveness isn’t some arbitrary event. Action on the behalf of Jesus has occurred for us!
Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
Hugh Ross in his book Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job points out several scriptures that God uses to let us know he is near.
Job 10:14 “If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.”
God is watching us and is present with us in this world.
Job 24:23 “His eyes are on their ways.”
Job 28:24 ” He views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. Hugh says that Mathematicians have developed ways to illustrate how God can be near and beyond us at the same time. It is wonderful that we try to understand God!
Job 7:18 “You examine them every morning and test them every moment.”
Job 10:12 “You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.”
Luke 12:1 “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
Psalms 139: 1-5 ” O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.”
There is no excuse for people who say they can’t see God. He is our Father and our Creator. Those who don’t believe in God have their days numbered by him. He knows of their ways and when they were born. Their lives are proof because every breath from God is a blessing.
Job 9:22-23 “This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked. If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.” Hugh Ross goes on to say that Job argued that natural catastrophes befall both the righteous and the unrighteous alike. (p.49)
Luke 13:1-5 “There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
You see God is with us!
