Martin Luther said my conscious is captive to the word of God and he went on to say, “I cannot and I will not re-can’t anything, for to go against conscious is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen.” This quote was taken from Martin Luther in his own words essential writings of the reformation. Jack Kilcrease p 8. He also said, ” My sins belong to Christ as if he had committed them.” P 10. “Faith therefore gives the believer a share in Christ’s infinite riches of righteousness, life, and dominion. Because Christians share Christ riches, they are therefore free to give of these riches to their neighbors. God does not need our good works, since all has been paid for by Christ. Instead, the neighbor needs the believers good works. The believer obeys God and gives the neighbor a share in the riches of Christ through good works of loving service.” P 14.
When you are nice to someone and you show them goodness (If they deserve it or not), then you are being a good steward of God’s grace. When we are unkind to someone then we are destroying the temple of Christ. I Corinthians 6:19 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
Let’s have our conscious captive to the word of God so that we can be ready to give an account of the great joy and grace that is in us!
Thank you for this amazing insight!
