God’s word.

Psalms 138:2 reminds us that God’s word is the gold standard for all our actions and thoughts.

“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth:  for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Psalms 138:2

Don’t let anyone turn you away from the power of God’s word, even if they are in the church.  Let keep praying for each other!

Ps:  I over heard a woman teaching a child about Jesus and I thought what a great honor she has.  The things she said was good and it pleased me to see someone teaching a young person about God.  But then I heard her say that there are many ways to God.  Wow, I was crushed.  May God have mercy on us.

John 14:6, “Jesus answered, ” I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Let your words be few.

Psalms 50: 16-17 “But God says to the wicked: “What right do you have to recite my statutes and to take my covenant on your lips? You hate instruction and fling my words behind you.”

Satan lied to us and we took the yoke upon ourselves of hating God. That is what Satan has to offer us. God offers life!  Thank God for the cross.

Isaiah 50

This chapter of Isaiah has striking words from God. He did not sell us off or put us away. We did! By thinking that sin is good and fun and by doing evil, we have sold ourselves. God says to whom of my creditors did I sell you? Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is my arm too weak to redeem? Or do I have no power to rescue? God called to help, but we did not answer.  We were sold because of our sin.  But God said, “I gave my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who tore out my beard.  I did not hide my face from scoring and spitting.”  God redeemed us from our sin on the cross.  And even in the Old Testament he foretold of his great salvation towards us. Let’s not sell ourselves to sin anymore,  but instead turn to God who will save us!  Praise God!

The Savanna Principle

Satoshi Kanazawa in his book, “The Intelligence Paradox” reviews what he calls the Savanna Principle.  He says it can also be called the evolutionary legacy hypothesis or the mismatch hypothesis.  He says that our brain doesn’t know that what we are watching is not real.  We may know that the people on tv are not real, but our brain feels like they are our real friends.  He goes on to say that is why we may cry at a sad movie.  Consciously we know it isn’t real, but does our brain know this?  Be careful what you watch and put into your mind!!  We also don’t want to get used to evil so that when the time comes to deny evil it, we think it is ok.  But besides this the savanna principle shows that pornography and other images/pictures can be dangerous.  Serve God.  Let’s pray for each other to keep our eyes on Jesus!

The Spirit of God strives through men’s conscious.

Genesis 6:3 Speaks of the sons of men marrying the daughters of Cane. They married without consent from their God. Therefore God said he will not always strive with men. The Holy Spirit still strives through the conscious of men. The day is coming when this will end. 1 Peter 3:19-30 says that the spirit had long suffering towards men in the days of Noah.

Today, the blessing of the Spirit striving with our conscience provided checks and balances.  It is being abused and goes unrecognized by those who abandon God.  May God have mercy on us and this nation.  Pray we run the race with diligence and not let anything hinder our walk with Jesus.  Also, let us pray we don’t become a stumbling block for those watching us.  Keep watch of what we think of therefore, be careful what we watch and listen to.  So that we are not turned away from this great grace given us.

Psalms 50 is a Psalm of Asaph.  He was appointed by King David as a temple singer.  His name means to gather.  I think of our church musicians today and how they are appointed by God to gather us in the joy of singing to him.  Let’s pray for our music ministers!

Well God answered your prayers. I finally found Andrew tonight on the other side of town. It is 24° right now in Baltimore and he was freezing. I was able to help him. Thank you for your prayers and thank God!
